Must Visits in Indianapolis | Food Edition
Hello, everyone! I've been wanting to share some of my top favorite brunch, coffee shops, and donut shops to visit in the Indianapolis area, so when ForRent.com reached out for me to do a city guide I jumped on the opportunity.
I kinda have a thing for chai lattes and donuts, so there will lots of recommendations for those two. So if you have any recommendations for a good chai latte or donut across America, or even in London, UK [as I will be visiting in September] let me know down in the comments.
My number one favorite chai latte can be found at, Calvin Fletcher's Coffee Company right here in Indiana. I have tried chai lattes in cities like: Detroit, New York City, Cincinnati, and Chicago -- none of them compare to this one. I love it both hot and iced, and sometimes my sisters and I will make the 30 minute trip to them just for this chai latte. It is that good.
If you are looking for a good brunch place, my favorite is called, The Garden Table. They have a location on Mass Av and in Broad Ripple [which is the one I visit]. So far, I have loved everything I have picked out to eat for either lunch or breakfast. They also make my favorite iced dirty chai latte.
My number one favorite place for doughnuts is at General American Donut Company. They have great flavors, aren't too sweet, and the workers are really nice. My favorite donut flavor of theirs is: strawberry. Just make sure you get to them early, as they close at 2pm. Bonus points: they aren't that far away from Calvin Fletcher's.
A quaint coffee shop that has stunning decor [marble table tops, art deco building], along with great coffee, chai lattes, and tasty baked goods. They are also a coffee shop at day, and a bar at night. I would rate their chai lattes at a number three out of all the places I've tried out. Yes, I'm a chai latte snob.
Falls Perk is tied in second place for the second best chai lattes [the other place is in DUMBO, Brooklyn]. I love to get their mixed chai latte. In fact, I've ever only tried their chai latte, but why try anything else when you love something so much?!? So if you are ever on the northeast side of Indy be sure to check them out.
My second favorite place for donuts would be Jack's Donuts. I love pretty much all of their flavors that I can consume, though sometimes their donut holes can be a little under-baked. Bonus points: if you get a craving for donuts in the afternoon/evening you are in luck, as they are open till 9pm everyday.
