I’m very picky about my mascaras, and I will go years not switching it up with different brands and types. It is one of the few categories within makeup, that I won't go crazy trying a bunch of different brands. I know what I like, and I’m not willing to waste money on a mascara that I might not like.

First things first, I like my mascara to make my lashes thick, full, and long looking — almost like I’m wearing some natural-looking false lashes. I’m also not a huge fan of waterproof or brown mascara, I want it as black as I can find. I want my mascara to actually be doing something, and for you to be able to see it — nothing too natural.

Favorite Mascara

  • Too Faced Better Then Sex Mascara — This has been my go-to mascara for years! But this past year, I’ve been forcing myself to branch out and discover other mascara’s. I love how dark, and voluminous my lashes look after using this mascara. It can be a little tough to remove if you layer on a lot — but it is worth it!

  • Tarte Cosmetics Big Ego Mascara — If I’m feeling more natural, but still want some volume to my lashes I will reach for this mascara. It is easy to apply and remove and comes in a hot pink tube! It never disappoints, and I know I can always count on it, especially since the formula never gets thick. It is my old-faithful mascara.

  • Clinique High Impact Mascara — This mascara favorite came as a shock to me, no offense to the brand. But I was impressed with how amazing my lashes looked after wearing this mascara for the first time back in February after getting my makeup done. This mascara is on the same level as the Too Faced, and I feel like no one talks about this mascara, which is honestly a shame.

  • Marc Jacobs Beauty At Lash’d Lengthening and Curling Mascara — This is a newer mascara to the market, and I quickly became a fan of it after testing it for Influnster this summer. One thing to note, it can become clumpy on the brush after being open for two months. I just scrape the excess off on the lip of the tube, and it works fine from there! So just be aware that it is a more wet formula as time goes on [then again, I feel like that is just a Marc Jacobs Beauty mascara thing].

  • CoverGirl Exhibitionist Mascara — Over the years I’ve tried various drugstore mascaras, but I feel like it has been a while since I’ve really tested all the new ones out. This is the one recent drugstore mascara that I have tried, and I’m a fan. It is similar to the Tarte Big Ego, so if you are a fan of voluminous, yet natural-looking lashes this mascara is for you.
