My Go-To Lip Products
A few years ago, I was all about drugstore lip products — especially lipsticks. Now, I find that they kinda taste like play dough, so I would much rather opt for a higher end brand. Occasionally, there is a drugstore option that I love and use still, but otherwise I find myself opting for something found at Sephora.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in 09, 10, 70 — I love how moisturizing these lipsticks are, so of course I had to have three in my collection. I have a pinky nude, light mauve nude, and a berry rose — all three are basic everyday colors for me. Though it may be fun to get a blue red, or red orange someday. We shall see.
Lancome L’absolu Rouge x Camila Coelho in Parisian Nude — I first discovered this lipstick in a PR haul video that Shaaanxo did last autumn, I loved the color and the packaging so I immediately placed an order on Sephora’s website. The color is a little pale for me to wear on its own, but paired with a deeper lip liner and/or lipgloss I can create various tones of a nude lip that works perfect for me. Sometimes I will go more pinky, other times more brown toned.
Tarte Color Splash in Salt Lyfe — After seeing Kathleen Post rave about this lipstick for about a year, I finally took the plunge and added it to my collection. It is a gorgeous lip color, that has quickly become an everyday color for me. This one leans more mauve toned.
Urban Decay Vice in 1993 — This is hands down one of my favorite brown-toned nudes. Urban Decay has definitely become one of my favorite mid-point makeup brands over the years.
Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in Obvi — I’m not the biggest fan of wearing this on its own, as it is a warm peach, but layered over any one of my favorite nude lipsticks I’m a fan. The color lasts awhile, even after drinking several cups of coffee. Yes, thank you.
Revlon Colorburst in Peony — This is an old lip gloss that I have owned for a few years now. I love it because it is very similar to NARS Orgasm, which is a cult beauty favorite. Sadly, you can’t purchase this product anymore as it has been discontinued.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost in Almond Nude — I have already repurchased this gloss twice within a year, and I’ve never used up a gloss before. It pairs well with any nude color, and is super moisturizing. Huge bonus for the winter time. Also, it looks great worn on its own, or paired with a lip liner.
Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner in Hush Hush — A warm cinnamon brown, this liner is great worn underneath any nude-toned lipgloss or lipstick. You can also wear it one its own, but I find it just slightly too matte, especially if you have chapped lips.
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk — After owning the drugstore dupe for years, I thought it was high time that I purchase the OG. It is definitely a staple for me now, in fact I have almost reached the halfway point of using up this pencil. I will definitely be repurchasing this one during the next sale at Sephora.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Nighthawk — A brown-red, that takes any look back to the 90s. Definitely a fan for those days I want to channel my inner Rachel Green.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in 1993 — 1993 is more of a brown-pink, but it still has those 90s vibes. I do love my Urban Decay lip liners, I also love the lower price point, from say a brand like, Charlotte Tilbury.
Skinfix Lip Repair Balm in Minty Mint — A clear gloss that is moisturizing, and helps heals your chapped lips.
Tatcha Camellia Gold Spun Lip Balm — Super moisturizing, and adds a nice touch of shine thanks to the 24k gold flakes that are swirled into this lip balm. Only downside is that this only comes in a pot, my least favorite way to apply lip products.
