What is in My Makeup Bag? | Summer 2019
My summer makeup vibes for this year has leaned towards a more natural, glow-y, bronzy look. I have also included a good mix of drugstore and higher-end makeup within my routine.
Face Products
Drunk Elephant — D-Bronzing Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops // I was hesitant at first about purchasing this product, especially since I’m so fair skinned. But after seeing some other beauty bloggers use this product who have lighter skin like me use this, I took the plunge to purchase this for the summer. It looks amazing mixed with my CT Light Wonder foundation, gives that perfect summer bronzed glow.
MAC — Studio Fix Powder NW10 // When ever I don’t want to bake my undereye area, I like using this powder foundation to set my makeup. I have been using this for either setting the face, or as a light foundation coverage for about two years now.
Charlotte Tilbury — Light Wonder Youth Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation in 1 Fair // I had been looking for a lightweight foundation, that looks natural and glowy on my skin for about a year. As soon as I tested this product out this past winter, I quickly fell in love with it! It works with a lot of my favorite products, just don’t pair a too glowy of a primer underneath — the foundation won’t set well.
Maybelline — FIT me! Loose Finishing Powder in 05 Fair // Such a beautiful and soft powder that looks amazing for baking!
CoverGirl — Simply Ageless Instant Fix Advance Concealer in Fair // A lightweight concealer that covers lighter dark circles — if you need a full coverage concealer, this is not the one for that job. I like it for lighter makeup days.
L’ORÉAL — Lumi Shake & Glow Dew Mist // Continuing with the glowy theme, this is a great drugstore option for a setting spray that gives you a glow — just make sure you shake it before using it.
Supergoop! — City Sunscreen Serum // I have gotten into the habit of using sunscreen underneath my makeup everyday, and this one has works wonders for me. My face hasn’t reacted from the product, and I haven’t gotten sunburned on my face this summer.
Anastasia of Beverly Hills — Brow Wiz in Medium Brown // My favorite go-to brow product for years. I only use ABH brow products, and have for years.
Blush, Bronzer, and highlighter
MAC — Melba Blush // I had been wanting a matte peach toned blush for summertime, and this one from MAC is the perfect tone for me. I looks amazing with a sun kissed bronzed look, and the blush also looks amazing brushed across the bridge of the nose for that natural sunburnt blush trend that has been popular this year.
Makeup Revolution — Ultra Bronze Bronzer // A great warm toned bronzer that works with fair skin tones. I like using this where I would get hit by the sun.
Maybelline — City Bronzer in 100 // Lighter toned then the Makeup Revolution one, but I really like using this in my crease with a shimmery taupe eyeshadow. It is also a great contour/bronzer for me.
CoverGirl — Trublend Super Stunner Palette in 500 It’s Lit // An amazing drugstore highlighter palette, that is soft and buttery — kinda reminds of the ABH Sugar Palette (which is a huge favorite of mine).
Eye Products
Anastasia of Beverly Hills — Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette // I’m a huge fan of ABH’s eyeshadow palettes, and this a great natural one with a good mix of mattes and shimmers.
Burberry — Pale Barley No. 102 Silk Shadow // My favorite taupe eyeshadow that has a light shimmery sheen. I have hit major pan on this single shadow, which I’m kinda sad about as you can’t purchase this anymore.
BareMinerals — Gen Nude in Rose Eyeshadow Palette // Definitely not for those that want a more bold eye look, but a more natural look. I like mixing the shadows from this palette with all of the shadows in my makeup bag this summer for various looks.
Tarte Cosmetics — Big Ego Mascara // I am very picky about my mascara’s and their wands, like for the longest time I only wore Too Faced’s BTS mascara — as it was the only one that fitted my mascara needs. So I was so excited to test this one out, especially when I saw the wand in-store. The formula on the Tarte one is very buildable, and looks natural, but can be built to look dramatic. Definitely my new favorite mascara, plus I love that it comes from one of my favorite makeup brands.
lip products
Fenty Beauty — Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow // A gorgeous lip gloss that pairs well with my summer makeup looks. The gloss feels comfortable, and isn’t too sticky.
Charlotte Tilbury — Lip Cheat In Pillow Talk // My favorite go-to lip pencil that I love pairing underneath glosses, and/or various lipsticks. I have purchased the dupe for years, before finally splurging on the real deal.
Make Up For Ever — Artist Color Pencil in 606 Wherever Walnut // Slightly darker than the CT Pillow Talk, so it is a great option for when I want to go a little darker with the lip.
