Hi, y’all.

Welcome to my blog. I’m Ashley, a barista who loves fashion and makeup! Thrifting is my passion, and I love a good makeup sale. Hope you have a nice visit!

I’ll be moving into a townhouse in Indy with a good friend come this spring/summer. With moving comes a lot of planning, decluttering, packing and dreaming of my new place. I have spent a majority of my life sharing a bedroom with different siblings, so I am excited to create a space just for me and learn more about my design style.

As I started exploring around on Pinterest, and browsing the aisles of Target and IKEA certain design elements started sticking out to me: rich bold colors, velvet, layers of textures, mid century style, polished vintage vibes, and big floral prints. I’m not entirely sure what this style of decor is called, but I love it!

I’m thankful that when I move out, I don’t have to buy a ton of stuff for my bedroom. I already have a mattress, a set of Alex 9 Drawers, a vintage upright dresser, a desk lamp, and the opportunity to bring as many Billy bookcases that I need from my parents. I will be trading my white HEMNES IKEA bedframe with my sister, Gaby, for her black wrought iron day bed [as I’m thinking that I will put my bed in front of my window to get more wall space].

Thinking over what I would like to add in to my room, the following things come to mind. I’m wanting to get back into filming YouTube videos, so I’m thinking a desk/dressing table would be nice to have. I don’t have a legit nightstand, so I would love to add one to my room. I also want my room to feel as cozy as possible, so if at all possible, I would love to add a rug to my room. I know I want to add a big floor mirror to my room, it can help make my room look bigger, and will be handy for Instagram photos — the problem will be finding one with a frame I like, within my budget. The dream would also be to have a clothing rack, but I think that will be pushing it with the size of my room — I will possibly have to decided between a desk/dressing table, extra bookshelves, or a clothing rack.

Bedroom Wish List

  • Linnmon/Alex Desk [IKEA] — The cheaper option of two desk/dressing tables that I like from IKEA. I like that it has five drawers, perfect for storing blogging stuff, important papers, and extra makeup. One could always use extra storage space.

  • Malm Dressing Table [IKEA] — I love how clean and elegant this desk/dressing table looks, and I love the big drawer which would be perfect for storing my everyday makeup products. Yes, I have everyday makeup, and non-everyday makeup.

  • Ravenea Potted Plant [IKEA] — Don’t know if I will end up purchasing a plant from IKEA, but I definitely want to add a plant or two to my room.

  • Vonsbak Rug [IKEA] — I’m picky with my rugs, and I really like this one that I found at IKEA. The color would go with the velvet quilt that I have picked for my room, and the general theme of my room. It is definitely a contender.

What I’ve purchased

  • Klabb Table Lamp [IKEA] — My bedroom doesn’t have any built in lights, so I have been on the hunt for lights to have when I move in. I love the style of this lamp, and I love that it comes in gold as I want to go with gold accents within my bedroom and connecting bathroom.

  • Sanela Velvet Cushion Cover [IKEA] — I love these velvet cushion covers, and opted for the hunter green one for my bedroom. I feel like it will pair well with all the colors I have picked out so far for my room. I’m excited to use it on my daybed.

  • Lisann Faux Fur Cushion Cover [IKEA] — Never thought that I would be featuring faux-fur in my bedroom, but I kinda fell-in-love with these faux-fur cushion covers. I kinda feel like these will add a touch of glam to my room, and I’m excited for that.

  • Teal Velvet Tufted Stitch Quilt [Opalhouse Target] — This is the piece that started the whole vibe and theme for my bedroom. I had been eyeing this quilt since it first came out, but didn’t want to pay the full price, but thankfully for Cyber Monday I was able to snag it for a steal. #yesssshoney

As we get closer to me moving in, I will definitely share updates on what I decided to purchase and how I end up decorating my room. But for now, we are mostly in that dreaming phase.
