I am a bit of a concealer junkie. When ever I hear that a new concealer will be launching, I always can’t wait to visit either Sephora or Ulta Beauty to play around with it and possibly bring it home with me. Now, I only have one face so I can’t play with every concealer out there. But I do have fun playing with the ones I do have.
Top Five Favorites
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer [Fair] — If you are looking for a good high coverage concealer, don’t look no further then Shape Tape as it provides full coverage. I have repurchased it several times since it first came out, and love how looks when applied with a damp beauty sponge. Warning. If you are wanting to just wear the concealer on its own, with no foundation, this isn’t the one for you.
Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer [Very Fair] — I held off from trying this concealer for years, as I had always heard such mixed reviews. Then finally this past autumn, I picked it up on sale and have been using it almost everyday since then. To say the least, it has quickly climbed the ranks of my concealer collection. It looks amazing paired with most foundations, and also looks good worn on it’s own for those simple days. The concealer has good coverage, not has high as Shape Tape, but more of a light-medium coverage.
First Aid Beauty Hello Fab Bendy Avocado Concealer [1] — A good lightweight concealer that covers, and feels moisturizing especially during the colder months. This is another concealer that looks good worn on its own without foundation. A plus for those no-makeup/makeup days.
Cover Girl Simply Ageless Instant Fix [310 Fair] — A good drugstore concealer option with light to medium coverage. I love that it is formulated with with Hyaluronic Complex + Vitamin C, making it is a great brightening concealer for the under eye area. I don’t apply it with the applicator that comes with the concealer, but instead I love applying it with a damp beauty sponge.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer [Fair] — When I was in the UK a few years ago, I had purchased several tubes of this concealer. It was a favorite amongst the British YouTubers in the early 2010s, so I knew I had to try it out for myself. I love how natural it looks, and sadly I’m on my last tube now.
Runner Ups
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer [NW15] — You only need the tiniest amount, as the pigment is strong with this one. But it is definitely a full coverage concealer, the only downside is that you have to apply it with a pump and the bottle is glass. I’m always nervous to travel with this product, as I’m always worried that it is going to break all over the place.
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer [Fair] — Another full coverage concealer that I love when I need the coverage. As you notice, I have a lot of full coverage concealers in my runner up list, mostly because I don’t need them on a daily basis so they aren’t on my top list. I love how this is creamy [not in a bad way], waterproof [great for long shifts when it is hot outside], and how it looks on the under eye area. Just make sure you set it.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer [Light] — When I first got into makeup, this was the only concealer I owned for the longest time. It has remained a favorite all these years. This is my favorite concealer to spot conceal any small blemishes I have, for those days I don’t want to wear a full face of makeup.
Concealer Misses
itCosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer [Light] — No matter how hard I try, I am not a fan of this concealer. I find it too sticky and wet looking, and just looks cakey on my under eye no matter how I set it. Not a fan.
L.A. Girl PRO Concealer [Porecelain] — Not a fan of the applicator on how the concealer comes out. Also not a huge fan of how the concealer applies either. It may be cheap, but I would rather use another concealer. I had only purchased this because, I needed concealer but didn’t have the extra money for my favorite concealers.
Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define [C3] — The coverage is fine, I just can’t stand the scent of this concealer. It keeps me from using it on a daily basis, as I’m sensitive to scents.
