How To: Bronzed Summer Makeup
I love a good bronzed summer makeup look, and every year I work on improving it with different products.
How I created The makeup look
I had purchased the Drunk Elephant Sunshine Drops last summer, but I ended up not using it that much. I was mostly scared of it looking too dark on me. Fast forward to last week, I tanned my face with Isle of Paradise tanning drops. Then this weekend when I went to apply my makeup, I just ended up using this serum mixed into my current moisturizer. I used the back of my hand as a mixing palette, and used this e.l.f cosmetics brush to apply it all over my face, ears, neck, and chest. I look tanned and glowy — just the look I was going for.
After I got my base down, I applied some concealer to my under eye area, as I have dark under eyes. I have been using the Pacifica concealer — it is a lighter formula, but it gets the job done. I especially love how it looks with this makeup look. It adds just the right amount of coverage, especially since my base is coverage free. Another thing, I typically react to their products, but so far I haven’t had any problems with this concealer.
To set the under eye area, I am using the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation powder in Cream Puff. Just use a little bit to set the under eye area, I like using my Tati Beauty Blendiful for applying powder.
Next we gotta add more glow. I like using a cream highlighter for this step, and I have been reaching for my Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Glow Wand in Sumbeam. I either use a damp sponge, or a Real Techniques setting brush to blend it into my skin. Once we got our glow on, it is time to add a touch of burnt peach blush with the CoverFX Monochromatic blush duo in Soft Peach. Add a punch of more bronze with your favorite bronzer — I go back and forth between several. I’m currently loving: bareMinerals Endless Summer Bronzer in Faux Tan and Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer.
We are going to keep the eyes very simple. Buff a matte taupe shadow into your crease. Dab some sparkly champagne colored shadow to the center of your lid, and darken your outer corner with a matte. I used the Bobbi Brown Smoke & Metals Eye Shadow palette. Don’t forget your mascara! I used, Clinique High Impact Mascara. This mascara has been my go-to for the past three months.
Brows are just filled in with the Anastasia of Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown, then fluffed them up with their clear brow gel.
For lips, I just went with MAC’s lipstick in Creme In Your Coffee. Though it has pretty much come off in the photo above. Another good option with this makeup look is Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow.
